Introducing the all-new [R]GARAGE!
Welcome aboard to the new world of [R]GARAGE, where now our philosophy are now more than just top downs! It has been a long time since I construct the new design for this site, but unfortunately real life washed away the process. Thankfully, it's now finished, so I am gladly welcome you back to the site, of course with some new stuffs!
The new logo is one of the main agendas that drive the redesign of this site. This new logo now describes a new, bolder look while staying true to its philosophy. Here, the new logo sports a new motif where a real, distorted square takes the place of the squared brackets that covered the "R" letter, and the word "GARAGE" no longer overlaps with the first letter. The style stays the same: all letters in the logo are skewed. The difference is the fonts, with the new one donning a very well-fit font combinations that really characterizes the brand personality very well. Last but not least, the text above the logo itself become Creative & Motorsport, the new tagline for [R]GARAGE, replacing the katakana letters in the old logo.
And what does Creative & Motorsport mean? Be it "Creative & Motorsport" or "Creative Motorsport", it is the new tagline for [R]GARAGE which is also the philosophy where motorsports doesn't have to be just enjoyed the same, conventional way. By blurring the lines between digital creativity and motorsport knowledge, [R]GARAGE always tries to stand out and try something new, with the existing resources. The tagline is actually a pun to a real-life racing team "Creative Autosportif" that fielded a Le Mans 24 Hours entry in the mid 2000s with its Creation CA06/H.
The site itself departs from a conventional design to a more modern approach, marked with the new image slideshow that showcases the six represented games on this site and one more unique backgrounds for each game's index (in addition to the "New Contents") and download pages. Downloads in each section for all games now take an image gallery approach in order to visually aid you in choosing which content you should download, while the miscellaneous downloads for certain games are given a preview image and an accompanying description. The new design is now more faithful to the brand's image, and therefore we can safely say goodbye to the also-flat header rectangles, double-lined borders and untidy content layouts as we say hello to a single-line, thick red border and simpler-yet-tidier content layouts.
New to this site, along with the addition of sections dedicated to TrackMania United Forever, GTR2, and rFactor, is this very section: [R]GB, also known as [R]GARAGE BLOG. At first, I planned to revamp my current blog to one but after some considerations, including some designing blarghs, I decided to christen this as the true [R]GB, though also keep my personal blog to post new content announcements in addition to my personal ramblings. This section will play a role of introducing and giving some profile and backstories for existing contents in all games, as well as projects where the content is related to each other by one project in question, connecting the lines between separate contents into one. The name itself doubles as a reference to the RGB color mode, the coloring staple for digital designing, and the first letters to three of [R]GARAGE's theme colors (Red, Grey and Black).
Last but not least is the social media accounts for [R]GARAGE where you can expect some social media banters, as well as some ice breakers, content announcements, and content backstories. You can find us on both Facebook and Twitter. This will be a new challenge for me to build up social media activity and engagements in order to make [R]GARAGE a better place for everyone.
In the end, welcome to the brave new world of [R]GARAGE! I hope you can enjoy this site and be sure to give us some good feedbacks about this site in general or the contents featured here via e-mail. Don't forget also to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for more Creative Motorsport goodness!
